Actually, nothing today! Slept in late, and went to see WWE RAW, which rocked! I can occasionally sacrifice some gaming for Pro Wrestling.

January 23rd, 2011

World of Warcraft (PC): Archaeology on Cinnaris, then moved on to Dyneamite where we finished up the Badlands. Got a neat little dragon whelp summon, so I'll have to do the quests on Cinnaris and get a "Delphyne." Then we did most of the Searing Gorge, but really only because we wanted to take on Chambermaid Pillaclencher and get some nice slowfall pillow trinkets! This tall dwarf lady - as tall as a human - was easier to beat this time around than it was on Cinnaris and Tamberly.

Had some frustrations early on as the Wikis - first WoWHead and then WoWWiki - mislead us on just how many quests we'd need to do to get to her. We ended up having to do just about all of them up till that point, including a bunch of allegedly optional ones!

We moved from there to the Blasted Lands and got a couple more levels to get us ready for the Outlands, but before going, I stopped to use "Enslave Demon" for the first time, on six-armed Shivan/Shivarra demon Shahandana. D'oh ho ho.

Did some Outlands from there, making it a few missions into Hellfire Peninsula. Good progress, but at last our triple Refer a Friend bonus ran out, having hit L60. Bummer! Additionally, my newer summons are only for a minute before they poof - so after the Felhunter, unbeknowst to me, I wasn't getting any more permanent minion choices.

"Enslave Demon" is missed potential, alas. You can only control a demon for five minutes, and it gets harder to re-enslave the same demon each successive time, and they also replace your currently summoned minion. So not only are minion choices limited, but Enslave is virtually worthless pre and post-Outlands, and your enslaved demons are only temporary and have their attack powers decreased.

I'd greatly prefer Enslave Demon to work like Hunter's Tame ability, and allow you to get a permanent, renameable minion. That would make it worth something even in the mostly-demon-less pre and post-Outlands areas, and give you a ton more variety. You CAN enslave Elite demons, which is nice, but I'd trade an occasionally super useful ability for a constantly useful and more permanent deal!

January 22nd, 2011

Watched one of the four "Film Crew" episodes today. Funny stuff, and I like how they have actual skits! I LOVE Rifftrax, but I do miss the skits from MST3k. (On the other hand, Rifftrax Live is the perfect combination of past and present!)

Beach Bubbles (360): Played around for a bit without much success! Oh well!

World of Warcraft (PC): Archaeology on Cinnaris, and we discussed how trolls are constantly the bad guys, all over the world, followed by humans, and that Draenei are almost never random bad guys, followed by Tauren. Wonder why?

January 21st, 2011

Beach Bubbles (360): For some odd reason I bought one of those dumb cheesecake games that involves puzzles to reveal pretty anime girls, and immediately regretted it. The puzzles are half-decent, involving moving a poorly-animated girl around the screen to pop bubbles while avoiding enemies, but the girls are, as they always are (allegedly, this is my first game of this nature!), but it really was not worth the three dollar price of admission. I mean, the girls are cute, but it's stuff I could find in seconds, for free and of comparable quality, on Deviantart.

Ah well, I actually unlocked a couple pictures, we'll see if I finish up all eight!

World of Warcraft (PC): Did some farming and archaeology on Cinnaris, checking out Kalimdor for the latter. Did some more duoing on Dyne in Tanaris, then we skipped over the Southsea pirates and headed for the Badlands. Caught wrasslin' on TV, came back for some farming, then hit the Badlands again.

Did a couple quests I thought were really fun, unlike most of WoW's lately, and Tam of course hated them, jokingly implying I'm trying to be contrary. /sigh Ah well, did make good progress. Oddly, Eric the Swift followed us when we warped back to Stormwind, and didn't seem to want to go away! We even kept our helmets, hah.

January 20th, 2011

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Hit PGL L20! Slowly but surely!

Vindictus (PC): Gave it a little go, creating a character that was Natsu-esque who I for some reason named Omphale. Oops, wasn't thinking, no wonder it didn't seem right! Anyway, the game seems neat, but I have two major complaints thus far.

First, and worst, it's a Nexon game, so it's free to play, but many of the little things cost. For example, your character creator only has about 1/4th of the total number of items available, and you've got to purchase the rest individually. Worse yet, you can't simply "buy" the game and have everything available. I haaaate stuff like that - let me just buy the game as a whole and have everything available!

Second, the controls are really weird. With the settings I choose, one of the two defaults, you move around with the keyboard and mouse, and targetting is weird. You have to swing the camera behind you to attack in a given direction. That is, you can't just turn your PC and make them attack in a given direction, they always attack where the camera is facing, not where the PC is. But this assumedly will get better with practice and tweaking, would love to use a controller for this!

Anyway, graphics are gorgeous and conducive to making a Natsu, so I may give it another shot soon!

World of Warcraft (PC): Did a quick quest on Dyne, then hit up Obme and did some of the newer deals in Darkshore and did up to where I had to kill a few Darkscale Priestesses before I threw in the towel there. Did some brief farming on Cinnaris and got an Elementium Geode, a lil companion thingy I have yet to use. Tam's kinda wanted one - maybe I should send it to her?

Later, after some FFXIV and Vindictus, I did some farming as Cinnaris, then checked out Tol Barad. Did a quest or two, but rather failed at the objective, directly attacking the Orc encampment instead of the individual locations. Whoops!

Hung out with T, she had some potions of illusion that turned her into her target or something, so Cinnaris got to dance with himself, hah. Did some more archaeology, scouted the Scarlet Monastery (even the Scarlet Converts are gone from Tirisfal!), and it turns out you don't need a key anymore to get to the next two areas, which might save some SC death later!

Sadly, I still need 3x Scarlet pieces, and a tabard!

Hit up Dyne, and we went to move to Kalimdor, only to find I can't do the Thousand Needles quests like Tam can - she apparently did some quests to lead up to 'em that we didn't know we needed to do! So I swam down to Tanaris, and we did a couple quests there.

January 19th, 2011

Saw the Warrior's Way today with Mom, and it was surprisingly good! Considering the reviews it received and, more importantly, the brief time it spent in theaters, we weren't expecting much, and while the line we were chuckling about (when the grizzled cowboy, played by Geoffrey Rush, says seconds before an ambush, "Damn... ninjas."), it was surprisingly neat. Really inspired setpieces during the final battle, and the Asian/Old West hybrid music was pretty inventive.

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Did a few more leves, including all three level twenties, which is a good feeling! Unfortunately, the level ten quests seem to have worn out their worth, so in the future I'ma just warp around to do all L20 missions. No levels today, but I'll definitely hit PGL 20 tomorrow!

World of Warcraft (PC): Some farming on Cinnaris, some questing as Obme and saw the ruins of Auberdine, also getting her high enough to use an L22 shotgun. The sound is pathetically weak, and it changes with each shot, so it's disappointing. Got Cinnaris' smithing to 525, capping two professions, something Tam had only done on a single character before. Neat.

Eventually did some questing as my warlock, Dyneamite, in the Plaguelands. Actually remember doing the first few quests in EPL before as Cinnaris, but this was the most of both Plaguelands I've ever done.

I threw in the towel when we reached a quest where you're supposed to help the spirit of a young girl find her doll. I love stuff like that, helping ghosts on the other side find rest, and I also like how there's no controversy, one of the few WoW quests where you're a) not killing anyone, and b) there's no potential for moral ambiguity.

But apparently other quests that involve killing without discrimination over trifling matters are easier to swallow for some than ones that are unarguably morally upright and entirely noble. <_<; Welcome to the mentality WoW fosters, I guess!

January 18th, 2011

World of Warcraft (PC): Did a lot of skinning as Obme, reaching seventy-something, and did some leatherworking as well. From there, did some leveling as Megumii, my Priest, along with Tam's Paladin. A bit of a change of pace, but increasingly more fun! Tam hooked me up with some Elementium, got smithing up to 524, one short of max, then did more skinning as Obme, hit 110 or so, and knocked out a couple quests in Kalimdor.

Back to Meg, got her to 20, and we nabbed her a mount, then briefly hit up the warlock! Fairly productive!

Monday, January 17, 2011

January 17th, 2011

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Botanist 12, PGL 19, Physical Rank 20! I then did my first L20 leve, only to find myself struggling on the second (which involved human opponents, a rarity in the FF MMO style!). Without MP, it woulda been tough to finish, and I had no way to restore it. Tarryn hopped on, but didn't have the camp warp, so I warped to her and killed the level, oops! Something told me it porting was a bad idea!

So we tried my third leve, and after a few mobs, I got lost and went too far away, ending that leve! Ack! After that, Tam officially quit, and for the third time within a year, I was left alone in an MMO world! Alas.

World of Warcraft (PC): Briefly assisted with some PvP when the Horde attempted to attack the front gates of Stormwind and briefly again in Old Town, then hit up Dyne and did some Plaguelands questing there with Trinta. Zen'Kiki the druid was kinda awesome, turning into a cat and then leaping all over, shouting, "Leap! Meow! Attack!" and such, all the while not even looking at the mob. Ended up L39 - not bad at all, as Dyne's getting without shooting distance of Litian, my second-highest character, a Death Knight, at L58.

World of Warcraft 3.3.5a (PC): Got on for just a few minutes, saw I had my 10k gold that was supposed to come with my Silver VIP package (yay, fast and polite service!)

Sunday, January 16, 2011

January 16th, 2011

World of Warcraft (PC): After the insanity described below, hit up real WoW, and Tessana gave me a ride up to the Hinterlands using her multi-rider elephant - pretty neat! Then I "Friend Summoned" Trinta and we did a couple missions, with Dyne ending up at L34. Not bad!

World of Warcraft 3.3.5a (PC): After some playing around, failing to properly connect to Eternal WoW, and then again to Neverendless WoW, I finally got connected to an instant-80 server, Mond. It's not quite instant 80, as it took me a chunk of the day to hit 85 (yes, 85, on a pre-Cata sever!), and it's also incredibly unprofessional. The people are friendly and helpful, but spelling errors abound, new equipment is horribly unbalanced, there's a warp stone you have with no cooldown that takes you just about anywhere, and the "new" content is gaudy, poorly-laid out Christmas stuff and oversize mobs like "Double head dog[sic]".

But I liked it enough to pay $10 for Silver VIP Membership for Omphale (this time a Human Paladin), which has the first tier of insanely overpowered weaponry as well as dual-wielding for every class. So I hacked away through various instances, usually only having to kill a handful of mobs before I'd level.

Luckily, the vast amount of the world seems to be relatively untouched, only the big cities have changes, so this is what I want: easy, overpowered, and I can explore pre-Cata Azeroth. It culminated in a L85 Omphale, with more than a million HP and almost double that in MP, taking forty minutes to solo the Horde "Santa Claus," a giant Blood Elf female in the sexy Christmas outfit, a mission tasked me by a giant gnome female in a similar outfit (but red instead of green).

So I eventually defeated the 250 million HP Bad Santa and got an insanely overpowered ring, and learned the quest was a daily! Pure insanity, but the server should fulfill my desires to have a pre-Cata reference I can easily explore.

January 15th, 2011

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Hit PGL 18 and did some shopping for some pinks! Too bad my leggings cover up my pants, making it look like I'm wearing assless chaps and pink underwear, hah.

World of Warcraft (PC): Started my orc, Omphale, but only got to level two before switching to Dyneamite. Hooked up with Tam's character Trinta to abuse our 3x Refer-A-Friend bonus, did some of Duskwood, some of Stranglethorn, and made it up to L29. Later, after church and dinner and hanging out watching Most Shocking, came back to duh internets and we did a few more Strangethorn missions to hit 33.

Got my Felhunter dog thingy, with the dumb auto-name of Khuufum, and called it a night!

January 14th, 2011

A fairly successful week of studying and working out! I feel like I've learned from the former and I'm sore from the latter! Just gotta keep at it a week at a time.

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Rang for gifts, then hit up the Cinsational One. Did some leves in Ul'dah, getting Cinnaris PGL up to L17. Tried to get one of those coatees from an Oak something lumberjack (er, botanist) leve, without luck. Ah well, eventually I'll get one for Lamianumbertwo!

World of Warcraft 1.12.1 (PC): Mostly just playing around with, er, Detestia, my dumb Forsaken girl. Found the Scarlet guys - apparently I missed the early on Scarlet Convert quest. Did a lil leveling, some questing, not bad, slow progress. Saw someone slaughtering the Monastery. Can't move into the Plaguelands yet, they're way too strong. Ah well!

Thursday, January 13, 2011

January 13th, 2011

World of Warcraft (PC): Did some Twilight Highlands quests and... hit 85! I was behind Tarina, so she hit 85 several quests ahead of me, but I finally managed it myself. There were some interesting missions, including leading some troops and protecting dragonkin, but it was nice to finally hit 85.

Made some new armor for myself, and can continue doing so, just need more Elementium! D'oh!

World of Warcraft 1.12.1 (PC): So I'm playing WoW vanilla on a private server, Feenix. I guess I'll title these entries "WoW 1.12.1"? I really just want to see how WoW was, as well as see the earlier world, in this case, all the Scarlet Crusade stuff. I've actually got another server downloading, a 3.3.5a WotLK server, but I thought it would be neat to see WoW from the very earliest.

Started off on the Midrate server as a human, a Cinnaris clone, and ended up getting dueled immediately by some doofus who lost the first one, won the second, then immediately quit. Okay. Switched over to Highrate, leveled a bit, made it to Goldshire and Stormwind, and then it was just becoming too difficult to keep up playing WoW and 1.12.1 at the same time.

Then I moved on to a female orc, my first Horde play at all, and she looked fairly cute all things considered - and had nice abs! So I floated to Booty Bay, trying to get to Tirisfal Glades to do the opening quests, then decided to come back, only to have some big and bad Alliance gnome kill me a few times en route back. Me, a L2 orc! Oh well.

I got back, did some leveling figuring I'd rather be overpowered after all, I WANT to be strong enough that I don't have to kill any SC, then finally just threw in the towel and hit up the Forsaken.

After making a tolerable female warrior, I started off doing some of the quests, then figured, duh, I might as well level first (the server is like 8x EXP, might even be 15x), then blast through the initial quests. I had some issues, eventually making it through the awkward Undercity after dying and appearing there, and think I hit about L8. Finally found the low-level SC guys - not the LOWEST level, but the missionaries and stuff, so that's cool!

Slowly but surely!

Would be neat if Tam would play, but ah well, we've discussed before, she likes progress and rewards, I like exploring, so I think, having just hit 85, her interest in playing anything but official WoW is about nil.

January 12th, 2011

I'm bidding on some of Dane's games up for sale on eBay, just to be silly. He insists he'll make me pay shipping. Pff, yeah right!

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Got Cinnaris to PUG 16 and his physical level to 19. Slowly but surely! Did some leves outside of Ul'dah, just for the change of pace.

Mirror's Edge (iPhone): Did a brief run of a few levels. Pretty fun, actually! A fast action side-scroller, seems to capture the same feel of the game. Maybe I'll keep at it, but it's hard to focus on portables!

World of Warcraft (PC): Not a whole ton. Actually did not do Argents today, but did several quests in the Twilight Highlands, opening the portal to and from Stormwind, as well as getting over 50% toward L85.

There were a couple isolated Blackscale naga quests that we picked up, and despite my initial attempts at getting out of doing them, Tam actually started, and only killed the males, even retreating from female naga aggro. Since Tam was nice enough to try and meet me halfway on the whole naga thing, I assisted in defeating the males (even though she insisted on doing an extra one to make up for the one I missed), and again assisted in putting the females temporarily to sleep to allow for our escape.

So not a bad deal at all, and pretty thoughtful of her, even though I'm half-tempted to just abandon the quests entirely, tee-hee. We'll see what happens when we get to the next set of naga quests here!

January 11th, 2011

Today was Chinese and Design Concepts for Websites... interesting, but Chinese is hard! Lots of weird overlap with Japanese, but in an arbitrary way. Like the same symbols mean "man" in both languages, but the pronunciation is entirely different. Then, the word for tea uses a different symbol, however, this time the pronunciation is the same! Argh!

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Rang bells, then did a leve on Cinnaris. Went to get a second Retainer, and in typical SE-asinine fashion, different templates appear in different cities. So I had to warp to Ul'dah just to get the one I wanted. I took a Duskwright Elezen with gray skin and named her "Lamianumbertwo." D'oh ho ho, XI humor!

Oddly, Tam said the Raimille template looked more my style - a Wildwood Elezen with dark skin and blonde hair and goggles, almost ganguro-style. Hmm...

Mirror's Edge (iPhone): Just did the very first area, having discussed Mirror's Edge with Patti earlier! Eventually I'll play through the console one. Really neat to hear the theme song "Still Alive" playing. I'm still getting used to hearing CD-quality audio, music and voice on portables!

World of Warcraft (PC): Finished up my Argent stuff for Exodar, then hit up Uldum with Tam. There was a Katamari-esque rolling ball quest that ended up causalities in the quadruple digits for the bad guys, and some more Jones-esque Schnotz (read: Nazi parody) quests that weren't too bad. I saved another Blood Elf much to Tam's chagrin, too, and Icon, the guild we're gonna leave, hit L3, and before crashing after WWE Raw I got Master Flying, which really isn't as much of an increase as I had hoped. Oh well!

Monday, January 10, 2011

January 10th, 2011

First day of classes, sort of! Doing some Army-sponsored ones online. Programming Fundamentals and Japanese for today... yay!

Final Fantasy XI (PC): Did a quick run of Promy-Mea with Mimi to get our Tactics Pearl quests done, only to learn she had forgotten to get the quest started for the week. Whoops! Still, good to see Clearite again! From there, we did a couple pages both as DRKs, with me as DRK/WHM and her as DRK/DNC. We both started at L33, and by the end she was halfway through it and I was 34, muah ha ha.

Need to do some more XIing!

World of Warcraft (PC): Just did some Argent Tournament stuff for Exodar!

Sunday, January 9, 2011

January 9th, 2011

Final Fantasy XI (PC): So that Besieged I specifically checked for yesterday and forgot about? We LOST THE ASTAL CANDESCENCE. To the Swarm, no less, so I could've got my AC-loss cutscene, and to my favorite mobs, no less! Soooooooo mad at myself!

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Rang the bells for my gifts... AND did a couple leves as Cinnaris! He's now a Pug L15. Seems to be getting quite a chunk of EXP on these levels, he went from about 1/3 into 14 to halfway through 15! Gotta get my butt into gear.

Sadly, the frame rate seems to shoot up to 40s-50s at the highest settings while I'm rocking 720p. I haaaate using that much smaller a resolution, but it is infinitely more playable that way, and at this point I might as well play it at a lower res than not at all!

Game Room (360): Didn't actually play anything, just goofed around and got it updated. The prices just seem too much. $3 for an Atari 2600 game I can download for a buck, or free, elsewhere? Sega games I can get on a $20 Sega Genesis Collection with several dozen others?

Neat concept, just too expensive!

Sonic 3 & Knuckles (360): Played through much of the first area as Sonic, got the first emerald (yay! Blue Spheres is fun!) and then saved right before accidentally failing at my second shoot at one. Whoops!

World of Warcraft (PC): Did my AT stuff, then hit up Uldum - whoa, there's a strategy mini-game in WoW. What a novel idea, making Warcraft into a realtime strategy game! Before leaving, just to get some levels, we finished up the Indiana Jones parody, which included a scene where a "Schnotz" guy, beating up Harrison Jones, got sliced up by the propeller on a plane. Classic!

Did the Twilight Highlands opening campaign, only to find out that I need to be *85* for most of the recipes, and that I need to buy them at TWENTY elementium bars a piece. There's big competition for elementium right now since it's an endgame mat. That was all pretty demoralizing, so I did some mining, did some archaeology, then chunked the deuces!

Saturday, January 8, 2011

January 8th, 2011

Final Fantasy XI (PC): Checked for a besieged, and realized it was an hour and a half or two away... then promptly forgot to go back and do it. D'oh!

World of Warcraft (PC): Argent Tournament, some Vashj'ir quests I quit when it came time to use a shark to eat naga, then did some Udlum missions. Making progress!

Friday, January 7, 2011

January 7th, 2011

Decay Part 3 (360): But before passing out, I hit up the third part in the best thing currently going on in the Xbox Live Indie gaming vein. Part 3 did not disappoint, and it's all starting to come together. Spoilers, of course - but identities are finally getting verified and clarified.

The world you're in is a horrible spirit world full of death, a place where Oswald the White - the insanely creepy persona mysteriously hinted at in the first game. Your wife and daughter are trapped there, communicating where they can, your daughter through the doll, a gift from her grandfather.

Now, the first game implied you had just woken up from your own suicide, and the second game ends with cliffhanger, a spirit telling you *they* are the person you thought yourself to be. It turns out you, your wife and your daughter were victims of Oswald, who only staged the car accident to cover up his crimes. Your father, aware of this in a way not yet explained, committed suicide to allow you to utilize his physical body in Oswald's world.

The game ends with a creepy visage of Oswald - in the flesh this time, not just some ghostly visage like briefly seen.

From a technical standpoint, my biggest complain with Part 3 is that it utilized locations mostly taken from Part 2. Whereas 2 was bigger, longer and entirely new, 3 relied heavily on re-using existing areas, so it lost a little bit in regards to the exploration aspect. But it made up for it with a much more compelling narrative and reveal than either of the previous two parts!

Stoked for Part 4!

World of Warcraft (PC): Did the Argent Tournament and some Icecrown missions, archaeology and mining, and made some new armor for myself - a neat feeling! Organized the inventory with Cinnaris and Cutpurse, as well and take care of old mail across all my characters. Did some Vashj'ir missions till I learned I couldn't use the underwater mount outside of that zone, hit up Uldum with Tam and did some neat Indiana Jones-referencing quests, and then rolled out to check out some wrasslin' and sleep!

Thursday, January 6, 2011

January 6th, 2010

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Nothing but ringing the bells for free gifts, heheh. Not that I don't have a million samurai helmets already, and that I don't have the skills to make the white and black ones. Oh well!

World of Warcraft (PC): Started the day by doing some mining in Hyjal, then hit up the Argent Tournament area to be ready after Smackdown. After the show, did my Tournament dailies and finished up Gnomeregan, and made my biggest sale ever at 240 gold for a Hardened Obsidium Helm. Finished up a couple quests in the Icecrown/Crystalsong area, bought some glyphs, then moved on to assist Tam in Hyjal quests.

We basically took care of them all, everything from freeing godlike creatures to pretending to be Twilight to eventually defeating them and the boss in a big ol', rather neat fight. Some of the quests were odd, like chucking scared bear cubs from a tree onto a trampoline below, some where annoying, like having to kill Twilight failures, some were cute, like leading around baby turtles (mine died >_<), and some were neat, like one that involved giving a speech by choosing responses based on crowd reaction. There was also dressing up as ogres and flying dragons, so it was pretty varied.

As a side note, Twilight Augurs look cool, and they remind me of Theresa from Fable, particularly the first one, as they wear a bandannas over her eyes.

From there, headed back north, did the new day's Argent dailies (this time for Darnassus), and called it a night, finally!

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

January 5th, 2011

Final Fantasy XI (PC): Meanwhile, I think around the Joust-game time, I was multitasking, and somewhat playing XI! Naturally, nothing good happened this Besieged, simply because I was there, I'm sure. Medusa wasn't defeated, nor did we lose the Astral Candescence, two things I'd like to see (particularly the latter, as I've witnessed the former from far). Ah well!

Hopefully I can get more into XI again soon!

Phantasy Star Universe (360): Just did a quick, partial run of the first Icebreak mission! Can't get myself motivated.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles (360): Just played briefly as Sonic into the first couple stages. The graphics look rough at this resolution, but still a fun game! And I looooove the music!

World of Warcraft (PC): Didn't get started till late, and got involved in some ill-fated PvP when a buncha Horde guys were in Goldshire, heheh. Still, we ran them off, even if I was a casualty when all is said and done!

From there, it was back to Hyjal, and after a few quests I was forced to do "A Bird in Hand", one I was trying to avoid. In it, you capture a harpy leader, and are given the option to torture it despite it freely giving you information, and afterward, you can choose to kill or free her. My buddy disgustingly killed her yesterday (even after lamenting things like GTA and an earlier torture quest!), and even worse, it counted for me too, so I had abandoned the quest.

We do enough shady stuff in WoW as it is, I'm NOT gonna straight kill a defenseless person in cold blood. Worse yet, the previous torture quest, where you did NOT kill the guy at the end, caused all sorts of controversy, and nobody's batting an eye at this one. Heck, some people who even refused to do the first torture one, where the guy didn't die, KILLED the victim this time around. Fucked up morals there. <_<

Anyway! From there we went back after Twilight, and did a horrible mission that was an homage to the classic game, Joust. But the mission was painful, and rough for Tam, but at least we got lil mini Jouster companions!

From there, we entered a five man raid, and actually beat the first of two bosses. Took a few tries, but once we had a strategery down, we two-manned it, and I'll post the video to YouTube later.

Before we made our escape, Tam insisted on fighting a random mob, so I let her duke it out, and a took a while, but I certainly wasn't going to help if she wanted to play around and attack mobs who weren't aggroing. x_x

I ended the night doing a bunch of elementium farming. Slowly but surely I'm getting smithing close to cap!

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

January 4th, 2011

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Um, rang the New Year's bells for gifts!

World of Warcraft (PC): Did some more exploring, including going through the insect-infested Silithus zone populated by Twilight and Cenarion, the former of which is forceably a bad faction, and the latter of which is one of those not-really-good-hypocritical-type "good guy" factions, yay.

One thing I really dislike about how is how you can only "At War" certain factions. I think the whole Cenarion thing is really shady from the start, from questionable rationale for wholesale racial slaughter ("They're hurting the environment. Somehow we have the technology to know this, and we're also sure it's worth killing hundreds and thousands of people to save this little piece of land from not being what we consider an ideal ecosystem.") to supporting outright eco-terrorism (D.E.H.T.A., a violent terroristic PETA parody that actually scores you rewards and positive reputation for assisting).

And yet, I can't battle with more than half of the Cenarion group, because the one mentioned above you can't "At War" with and attack. So eventually, over time, just by playing I'll gain reputation with them to the point where I'm revered amongst nature-first humanoids-second extremists.

Anyway, we started duoing the Hyjal missions, and they're not bad. Twilight, but at least the faction we're working for I don't dislike. I had brilliant moments, like destroying a camp on foot when the quest name was specifically, "Flames from Above," but that's nothing new. Also lolled at the Twilight guys wearing armor that exposed their abs and sides, remarking that Tam and Twilight must shop at the same place!

Went through some caves with some non-aggro Twilight who of course got tore up till I made it a point to run far ahead, leaving Tam solo. We ended up freeing some slaves, but they and their captor had a crazy fast respawn time, making it hard to get all the drops we needed from them before getting attacked (eventually we just split duties between drops and fighting).

Kristoff Manheim was funny.

I was solo for a bit after that, so I finished up exploring everything I needed for the "Explorer" title, outside of Deepholm, which I can't yet access, then did my Argent Tournament things before returning to Hyjal to do some mining. I had a close call with three Twilight Stormcallers at one point, and escaped without bloodshed... only for Tavia to return, and me realize they were next on our victims list. x_x

We did some dungeons and questing, and eventually got to a "harpy" quest. We took down the first few, then ended up capturing their leader, where we were given the option to "soften her up" or just ask for info. She gave the info freely. And then Tam, the person who wouldn't do a torture quest earlier, had the woman killed instead of freed, despite the option to allow her to go.

So I abandoned since it counted for me, and was pretty displeased with how the whole thing went down. I did some mining, did some archaeology, changed his chair to make Cinnaris more Cinnarisy, and got him to 82, so I finally hit Deepholm and got my first title. "Cinnaris the Explorer" in the house!

I did play around with some WoW and XI model viewers and make a scene of Tam beating up a buncha mobs, heheh, and took a screen from Zangarmarsh, but ended up not using it and making a quicky background. Quite a productive, if at times highly frustrating, day!

January 3rd, 2011

Aaaalmost did some XI, but had to pass up the offer due to current events!

World of Warcraft (PC): Started off with a little mining in the Outlands after yelling at some Alliance player for picking on Shahandana, and then I finished off my Exploring the Outlands achievement. Stopped by Stormwind to do do some smelting and smithing, rudely keeping Tam waiting. Shortly afterward, we did the Argent Tournament dailies, then hit up the nearby Argent Crusade outpost and... got Level 80! From there, Tam had to roll out, so it was back to solo.

After finishing up my Exploring Northrend achievement, I basically broke my bank, dipping below a single gold piece, but Blacksmithing is now up in the 460 range! After getting the last few metals I needed, which included a brief, accidental trip to Kalimdor and then the intended return to Northrend, I did go through the brief openings to Vashj'ir and Hyjal, just because I know T's main character already has them open.

From there, I ran far to the north to handle my exploring achievements up there, leaving only a few places in Kalimdor and the Cataclysm areas to uncover on my way to unlocking "the Explorer" title!

World of Warcraft (PC): Not much, just mined briefly and did the Argent dailies! Late, and I gotta get to bed!

January 1st, 2011

So I slept most of the New Year's, but I totally stayed up and gamed anyway! Naturally!

Resolutions, less gaming, but more quality! Huge console backlog!

Final Fantasy XIV (PC): Just rang the bells on my characters to get the gift timers started.

World of Warcraft (PC): Did a chunk of blacksmithing, knocked out some Argent dailies (cultists again, argh!), and then did some mining... only to realize Fel Iron Ore and above requires TWO ores to smelt a single bar. Blarg! Gonna take a little longer than I hoped to get blacksmithing done, and I'm almost outta cash! So it goes!
